25/06 – Sale to Ashton Upon Mersey

As mentioned previously we’ve decided to fit in a nice Saturday afternoon stroll on the 25th June 2016. The walk isn’t too long and is on is relatively flat but can still be muddy in places depending on the weather. As some of you will be fans of SoccerBall™ we plan for the walk to start post lunch and end before kick-off at 17:00. The walk will take in Chortlon Ees, Sale Waterpark and the River Mersey.

As the chant goes, “come you yet to be determined round of 16 nations colours!”

10/07 – Sale Arts Trail

We’d like to experiment with different sorts of walks and the Sale Arts Trail is a great opportunity to do that. The trail involves several local artists in the Sale area opening up their workshops to display their work. They’re all within a couple of miles of each other so we’ll park the cars and walk around between the locations. We’re going to meet quite early but will be available on our mobile phones if you want to catch up later in the day or join us for the afternoon.

29/05 – Alderley Edge

We’ve now made a plan for the walk on the 29th May 2016, Alderley Edge. We’ll be mixing up the distances of the walks, and this one will be on the shorter end of the spectrum. The plan as stated below is to meet in the National Trust car park, just off the B5087, at 11:00 to start walking at 11:15. The walk will take in an old mine, lunch with a view over the Cheshire plains and a cheeky nosey at some fancy houses.

14/05 – Ramsbottom and Peel Tower

As you may know there are plans to start a walking club as part of Club Fusion, this is in progress and will be up and running shortly. Whilst this is happening the days are getting longer and the sun is getting brighter, it’s time to head out into the hills. Having had some requests to put on walks I’ve decided to start off with a simple formula, I’m going on a walk and you’re welcome to join me. Hopefully this can be used as an opportunity to discover what people would want out of a walking group, for when we have an official launch. For the first walk I thought we’d start with a local route and visit a place I’ve not been to before, Ramsbottom and Peel Tower on Saturday 14th May 2016.

01/05 – Snake Path

As the days are getting longer and the weather is getting better I’ve decided we should make a start with a walking club. At the moment it means I’m going on a walk and anyone is welcome to join me, it will become something more. This Sunday (1st May 2016) I’m planning on doing a moorland walk if anyone is interested. Usually I’d look at doing something a bit different for anyone who came on the moorland walk last week but it’s a bank holiday weekend so a fancy getting away from the big smoke.
